A habitat with different types of standing and running waters is essential for the welfare of numerous amphibians. In the Ljubljana Marshes, 70 per cent of all species of amphibians in Slovenia live, among them
- yellow-bellied toad (Bombina variegata)
- Italian crested newt (Triturus carnifex)
- European tree frog (Hyla arborea)
- European green toad (Bufo viridis)
